Hey guys,
I will ever entering a coed bs in MA in a week…I will be living in an all girls dorm with girls from all different grades…I know that bathrooms are shared and that there are shower stalls but how does showering work? How much time do u have? Do u wear a towel out of the shower and change in your room or do you change in the shower? Thanks
If you’re showering at a busy time (say in the hour before classes start in the morning) I’d be cognizant of your time to make sure others aren’t waiting but otherwise there is no limit on time.
As far as your last question, you’ll see people do a range of things. I personally wouldn’t want to change in the shower. More difficult to dry off properly and avoid getting your clothes wet. You could use a towel or you could use a bathrobe. It all depends on your personal level of modesty and what makes you comfortable, and that might change once you’ve been there. Many people are modest at first because they are used to being at home with private bathrooms but once they’ve been at school for awhile and get to know their dorm mates they don’t worry about it as much. Some people are just more modest and will stay that way. Some people aren’t modest and have no qualms about walking around without much on. Just do what you feel comfortable with. I hope this has answered your concerns somewhat.
My kid would say “shower? what’s that?” of course, I have a boy, so… In my experience from college, a bathrobe is the way to go. Good luck!
I was in a pretty small dorm this year (4 girls to the 1 shower on the floor), and I usually didn’t have to wait to shower, most often after sports in the evening. At first I got dressed in the shower, but I shifted to walking back to my room in a towel and getting dressed there.
