Yeah, if the group isn't too big, I'd be happy to get everyone together, like 10 or so people. Maybe go out for dinner in the city the weekend after first classes. Thats what I did freshman year and it was awesome. Yeah, I guess I will be a bit out of place and all, but I sort of like dealing with freshman more than anyone else. They are always happier and more open, because their experience is just beginning and they don't have to face the realization that the "real world" is less than a year away :(

Lol =/ Good luck with facing that...
Mmmm I'm pretty happy to be going off to college.
Loads of good things seem to be waiting. I hope anyway! Maybe if I say that enough, leaving this country won't sound as scary :P

Don't worry. Boston is a great place, with tons of college students in the same situation. You couldn't pick a better place to go to school.

If I get in ;)
I'm thinking pretty much the same thing. Still.. I've lived here nine years. I've never even been to the east coast! Well, I did once, for a week, when I was fourteen... so a while ago! Lol I'll take your word for it though :P

Well I hope you get in. I guess I will stop making plans until people actually find out who gets in and who doesn't. Would hate to get people excited only to find out that they didn't get in (although CC people tend to be the best and brightest of the bunch). So good luck to all, definitely let us all know if you get in.

I hope so too! And will do ;)

Lol yes I've noticed that! I think CCers are all, in general, obsessive about college... and therefore good/excellent students. Although I think I'm of a lower rank among most CCers :P Still, keeping my fingers crossed for BU!

Yeah I am a lower rank CCer too. I am just praying that BU sees something in me and accepts me.

Lower rank CCers represent! :)
jessica - you're from El Salvador! i used to live in Guatemala, which is like right besides where you live.

Lol it IS right beside where I live :)
I haven't been there in a year or two. I should go again before I leave :P

haha im down for that party! lol
especially with all the fellow uc rejects :)

DECISIONS ARE OUT!
Bring on the party!!!

rofl yes!!
we should do it during orientation, since i'm sure not everyone is going to the open house.
yay!!!!

Yeah, I'm not doing open house!
I live in freaking El Salvador..
Even orientation is an issue =/ I'm going to have to fly out to BU (doing in June 11-13) and then back here for summer and then back to BU once it's time to move in. Those plane rides are not cheap!!

^, you can ask BU if they can pay for your plane tickets for orientation or something.

Hmm do you think they actually would?
I mean I got like 46k in financial aid plus a 2000 work-study...
Wouldn't that be like pushing it?

ugghhh yeah airfare is sooo expensive. i'll probably go in one of the later june sessions since i'm going to europe during like the first two or three sessions, i forgot. i want to call BU just so i get an exact amount for the total cost and maybe i'll ask if they pay for airfare. but that's not till monday, so if anything i'll let you all know if no one else finds out before then.

jessica, el salvador is 3000 miles away, im pretty sure they aid international students in at least partially paying for airplane tickets so they can get to orientation.

Mmm technically I'm not international. I'm a U.S. Citizen, I just study abroad..
Well, I live here, my family lives here. But I'm not international. It's all very complex lol

Well it wouldn't hurt to ask...I know a lot of other colleges that pay for travel arrangements for accepted students, even those that live in the US but live in other states.

True. I'll definitely give it a shot.
Who should I e-mail about that exactly?
Excuse my ignorance lol, I think I was too excited to get accepted to really think about these things!
