I just took my temperature. 100 degrees, which makes me officially sick. My teachers all commented on my lackluster appearance today. One even told me I look like "half of myself". However, my family doesn't think that I'm really sick and they really don't care. I also have a ton of stuff to do this week, which makes it nearly impossible for me to stay home without missing a lot. And my mom's birthday party is on Thursday, and it's a big one. And I have mock trial practice Thursday night (going straight from practice to the party). Tomorrow's the only day where I don't have tests or something else to do. Should I try to miss school tomorrow?

if your parents dont think 100degrees is sick, they're not that bright. especially if you look sick. eh some parents...

And my temperature just lowered itself to 96.8 degrees. That's really weird. And I'm wearing a sweatshirt and I'm still freezing. I just took an hour-long semi-nap.

Well I say if it gets worst then stay home, but if it gets better then go to school.

Don't go back to school too early. Your temp could skyrocket in the middle of the day. I've learned that from experience.

I guess I'll see how I feel in the morning. As of now I have cold symptoms without the achy throat, thankfully. I can't afford to lose my voice.

98.6 is passing..meaning u really have no temp but it depends on how u feel..ive felt good the night b4 gettin sick have stomach ache right b4 get on bus have it get worse on bus ride there go straight to nurse after talking to principle right b4 homeroom but nurse not there spend time in principals office during first period have last 10 minutes in first period go to principals have my stomach ache get better but just as i was about to go to 2nd period well not hold down any food i ever ate in those past 24 hours..and it keep going like that that 4 over 24 hours..

who cares? I'd rather go to school and get everything done, than to be sick the whole day wasting my butt off and have to go through the process of getting stuff, talking to the teacher, etc... Unless you are hooked to an IV at a hospital

I can't focus when I'm sick. Knowing me, I'll fall asleep. But for now, it seems to just be a cold without the throat symptoms, which is really good. And tomorrow's the one day I can miss this week. The rest of it I have to be in top form for.

Well if it's just a cold, then you should go to school. I tried to stay out of school a day with a cold and my doctor told me that I was okay to goto school.

But if you had a flu, then you should stay home.

Stay home tomorrow and rest. You don't want to be really sick when you have to take a test or a quiz. I tried that on friday, and it didn't work very well ;)

You could end up getting sicker if you try to do too much. Feel better!

If you do decide to stay at home, make sure you email your teachers about assignments and see if you can arrange for someone to pick them up and get them to you.

I would stay home if you're still sick. especially with so much going on the rest of the week you really need rest.
my parents are the same way. even if the fevers around 100 they just say it's only a couple degrees high... but a couple degrees can really make you feel bad!

Stay home, if for no other reason than as a courtesy to others. It's not ethical to spread the illness around; even if you feel like you ought to, think about how many others might become afflicted due to your showing up.

Pet peeve of mine - can't stand it when a classmate is hacking and sneezing. Hello? Don't pass it to the rest of us; we don't have time for it, either!

...Misery loves company.

I'm home. Thanks everyone! I'm pretty sure it's just a cold, but my temperature's 96 degrees and I'm feeling miserable. And I'm cleaning my room for a houseguest on Thursday night.

don't clean too hard! just rest!
I hope you feel better!

yA Know, legally, your parents cant force you to go to school if you are 16> in NY...Thats your decision

yet idk why you wouldnt...its a cold and everyone with a cold is miserable. deal with it and move on with your life. act like a big boy/girl!

I'm only 15 :(.

And staying home with a cold is good for other people too. As you said, everyone with a cold is miserable. So why should I pass on my miserable-ness?

Anyway, lucky for me, my AP Euro teacher wasn't here today. I already read Catcher in the Rye so I didn't miss anything in English. Chem's easy to catch up on.

its a stinking cold...you get like two a year and they usually last at least a week. taking 4% of a year off because you have a cold is unreasonable imho
