siemens competition..how does it work?

siemens competition..how does it work? What are you suppose to do for the project. What is your project supposed to be on...what are the guidlines...I tried looking at the website but it doesnt really help.

I dunno but I know that the genius at my school was a semi-finalist.

Sorry that my input wasn't helpful.

Does anyone know what you have to do for the competition?

bump (10 char)

you work on a project, whether it is by yourself or with a mentor. THen you write a paper and submit it to the competition. The project has to be original research. good luck!

GuitarManARS hangs around the Harvard board (and some others) and was third in Siemens. You may want to ask him.

you develop an original research paper on either science, engineering, or math and submit that. there are several levels of honors: semi-finalist, regional finalist, and national finalist. sorry, not too detailed of an explanation but if you have any questions feel free to pm me or definitely ask guitarmanars (he's awesome) btw, a very, very good competition to enter. =)

Guitar's the coolest kid on this place. :)

haha, Guitar rocks, especially as I chatted with him each way through his siemens campaign.

to the OP, you need an original research project. Either go find a mentor, or come up with a very unique idea. Siemens is very real, they hire PhD's to evaluate your research, and they want actual research(meaning stuff that is new and adding to the field).

haha. I come home and am told that an Adam Solomon fan club has developed on CC. Excellent. So, excel, what grade are you in, and do you have any research experience?

Well when a man and a woman come together they miricle of life can happen but to do so this requires siemen. So if you want to make the mircle happen then take all the siemen you can.
NOTE: Sorry I couldn't resist.

...And I know you're in my fan club. :)

Um, I am the HEAD. haha

I was in Boston this weekend, in retrospect we shoulda chilled. Where are you in relation to the city?

yeah we should have. but i'm not all that close. just inside state lines. lol

by the way, I PMd you but i'm not sure i'm receiving any. so if you PM me back and i don't respond, um, tell me here. lol

Um, I'm working on the PM. Patience, young lady ;) lol

haha ok. well, i had over 50 so i just went and deleted a bunch. i always forget about the >50 thing. :)

you can google "siemens competition"

And check out the past threads... honestly it isn't that hard. I did it last year as well, and ended up entering as a junior(nobody said anything about winning though ;) ).

is there a guidlines paper for how to start?

er... I would recommend the ISEF wizard. It gives you forms that you should probably get filled out(bio safety, etc, if you'r doing bio or chem).
