So the Siemens Competition is going to announce the Semi-finalists and regional finalists on friday. I was just wondering who else entered into this and what your projects were on.

i didnt, but my friend has been anxious for the results and thats all ive been hearing about lately lol. shes a molecular bio girl.

I entered! How do they notify us? Email? And about waht time?

Its going to be posted on the Siemens website, Siemens Foundation - Siemens Competition on friday. I think that the post it at noon.

DS entered. The Siemens website says the results will be posted by 2 p.m. Eastern time, I believe. This is a tough week with SAT results tomorrow and Siemens on Friday. Good luck to everyone who entered Siemens.
Are most of you entering Intel as well? DS is working on his essays and LORs for Intel now. They are due in less than a month!

Yeah, I'm doing Intel as well along with some other ones like YES and ISEF (If i make it past the regional round). My project was about utilizing an anthrax vaccine in the form of a skin patch.

You should try the science and humanities symposium, too.

Yeah, I have to look into that more. Any one else doing Siemen's?

Yeah results come out 2 PM EDT tomorrow on the website. Lol, I got my SAT scores today, will get Siemens results tomorrow, and then I have the ACT on Fri... and one of these days I need to submit MIT's app and start on the Intel app.

I did a project parametrizing an intersection curve in space between a quadric and cubic surface.

Hey, gblob, I believe I was the other person under your mentor at RSI. Yes?

I entered a research project I did. I created a computer-aided diagnosis technique for melanoma. Basically, it takes an image of a mole, and 84% of the time identifies whether or not the mole looks like melanoma.

Lol, yeah I am (well assuming you did the project about non-integrability of e^x^2 over fields of characteristic p). Nice to see another Rickoid on CC!

Another rickoid here. Hope the siemens results go well... At least SAT scores were good for me today. Doing poorly at both would be "not AWEsome".

Mine was about quantum entanglement and special relativity. It seems that very few Siemens projects that were theoretical became semifinalists/finalists in the last few years, so I really don't think my chances are all that high.

^Yeah I noticed that too, there are also an insane number of bio projects that win. IMO math projects are so much cooler though.

mine was about the development of a computer simulation engine for a south african national park's ecosystem dynamics

okay so simons program is way better than rsi :p i dont care what you say!

i agree!!!

RESULTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED!

I did a team project, and I was not on either list. Then I noticed there were no teams on ANY of the lists. What's up with that???

Teams are on the lists. The student names are listed individually though, so you may not be listed right next to your fellow team members.
