Siemens?

My project got there two days late but when I called today, they said they accepted it. Yay! :D

Nothing to do but wait now...... :)

which file (from that link) most resembles the default font in LaTeX?

I dreamed last night that I was reading the Semifinalist's list, frantically searching for my name.

Alas, it wasn't there.

Is this a premonition?

No it means you instinctively don't use Ctrl-F key combination to quickly find stuff on websites.

And that you are thinking about this competition too much.

Somehow I never use Ctrl+F to scan list of names. I like the suspense of scrolling down.

I'm not really thinking about it; but maybe my subconscious was.

Whether or not you have an accurate sixth sense for these kind of things and a true affinity for dragging vertical scrollbars along, you're not along in pessimistically believing that October 28th will prove your efforts fruitless..

i believe its october 20th that the semifinalists are announced

Really?

Good, that's over one week sooner I can start groveling and over one week sooner I can get it over with. :)

And over one week shorter of fretting.

I'm a semifinalist!!!! :D

I'm just wondering

In the research papers, do you do actual research, like find out something no one else has before

Or is it something else?

I am a semifinalist also. :)

Shravas,

No, you don't necessarily have to have ground-breaking research.

does hksangha=harpreet kaur sangha?

Sweet I Am Too!!

w00t i'm a semifinalist...one of like 2 billion from california lol

Congrats, you guys! Can't say I have any good news to bear today, though, unless you count me already being over the disappointment as some!

Now to do some major revising for Intel! ..

yay semifinalists! sorry for those who didn't make it. So anyone know how many TEAMS fall under the southwestern category?

in the past have most of the regionals semis been regional finalists? it seems like the ratio is such that most of them move on to the next round especially the team projects. any such pattern?

Hmmm...only 30 individuals make regionals, so I'm guessing the individual semifinalist to finalist ratio isn't that close to 1...but the teams...I dunno. I looked at my region...and it looks like it barely has 5 teams.
