just wondering, how many can activate and log in to this
if you can state whether or not you have already been accepted...

i can, just seeing if theres a pattern or something...

Nope, I can't activate or log in.

I get the error:

The values you entered do not match any student accounts currently on SIG. Please recheck the values you have typed in.

when I try to activate.

And I have been accepted.

I haven't been accepted yet but I successfully created an account and logged in... I doubt it means much, the only reason I can think of why it may already work for me is because I did take a class at USC the summer before my senior year... maybe they still have me in that system? Is this site really only for admitted students or is it for prospective students (admitted or not) in general?

I activated, but it never sent me my password, so I can't login. I'm ****ed.

the site is for both prospective and admitted students - it shows which forms they've received for admissions & financial aid purposes. whether you can log in probably indicates whether or not they were backed up in creating accounts when your file was opened more than anything.

i can log in. i'm a transfer, so i haven't heard from admissions yet... but i applied last year.

Hmm.... I feel like I should be able to log-in. On the first page it says:

Students: Complete an undergraduate application to indicate your academic interests. You'll receive an email with your Information Gateway username and password and instructions on how to get started.

I never received that email. Did you? If so, what does it say about logging in or activating your account?

I've tried the login stuff I used for my application, and I tried entering my USC and birth date to activate my account, but neither worked. Ideas?

I just got my email that fixed my activation..I emailed them 3 weeks ago! LOL

It was really quick and simple for me, after I couldn't log in with my USC ID and birthdate as a password I just clicked on the link to activiate an account, it sent me an email with my password about a minute later. It just said in the email: Your registration for USC Information Gateway Web site has been approved. You can log in using the following information:
So I don't know why it wouldn't work for everyone else... especially if you've already gotten in.

see, it never sent me that e-mail! I WANT MY PASSWORD!

foil and hillyrae - i didnt get that email either...

to get that email you have to be able to actually ACTIVE ur account first..if you can't activate ur account you have to email loginfao@usc.edu and they'll fix your account at a snails pace

I DID activate my account-- it says it's activated!

why was it so easy for me to activate my account when I haven't even gotten in yet? doesn't make much sense...

It was really simple for me to do, i just followed the directions, and no, i havnt been accepted

scarletstar89: Do you mean you tried to activate your account with your USC and birth date? And then you did the "Lost Password Retrieval" and it sent you your login password?

Foil: well i went to the main page and when my first login (usc id w/ birthday didn't work) it sent me to the failed login page where it asked if i had activated my account yet, i clicked on that and the process from there was really simple, just basically creating your account.

try this: https://sig.usc.edu/Users/Activation.cfm?

I've tried that and it won't work. I just tried OASIS as well, but it says my USC ID is invalid. Guess I got a bad USC ID :p

it works for me..but it's not anything important..same thing as the prospective students gateway..there has been several other threads on this
