Signed up for a college tour and used my email - does it matter?

I signed up for a few tours this past summer and we took them in the fall. At the time of signing up, my son was away for the summer so I just used my email address. We already took the tours - though now I’m realizing with all of this demonstrated interest which I wasn’t aware of, I probably should have used his email address.

Would you email admissions office to have it changed or just leave it?

I would think that if the school in question tracks interest, it would track by the prospective students name. Therefore, I think your son would get credit for the visit as long as you gave his name. That said, though, I would probably call admissions and make sure the school has whatever email address your son plans to use for the application process. And, many schools will want a

parent email too, so make sure those schools know which email belongs to you and which belongs to your son. Good luck! (Sorry, don’t know how I got cutoff from previous post)

When you went in for the tour, your son would have signed in. That is his demonstrated interest…not emails from you.

Hoping someone can link the NPR broadcast with the GA adcom who told actually hilarious stories about student interest!

It is fine. He can mark down that he visited the school. I would suggest that your son go to the websites of the schools he is interested in and put his email on the mailing list.
