<p>So I'm in 5 APs this year, and all of them are pretty substantial. I hit 91/92 in Calculus AB/BC, and because we're on a 7-point scale, that puts me at 2 Bs. I felt like I got a 5 on the AP exam, so if I report it, will that take some of the sting out of the Bs?</p>
<p>Everything else (Biology, Psychology English L/C) I'm getting As in and most likely 5s (except for English, because that's kind of unpredictable with the essays).</p>

<p>I’d assume that reporting 5s (honestly, of course!!) would make you look better. There’s a place to put AP tests on the Common App.</p>
<p>I don’t think it would negate your Bs, but it would certainly show that you know that course material. That said, your grades and GPA usually hold more weight than your self-reported AP scores.</p>
<p>Good AP grades won’t negate your B’s, but they do show college admission officers that you are prepared to handle college-level courses and that you do have a firm understanding of the subject regardless of getting a B, assuming you received a 5 (and maybe 4) on the exams. Definitely submit all your scores unless it is a one. I forget where, but i read somewhere that if you don’t submit the AP score for an AP class you’ve taken, it either shows that you had no incentive whatsoever to even bother taking the test, or that you did so poorly that you would rather not choose to report it.</p>
