How bad would a predicted 5 in IB Math HL look to an admissions officer for a Ross pre-admit?

I am full candidate at an IB only international school (so there are no APs etc.).

Depends on a lot of factors, are u doing good in math otherwise in standardised tests and all, does your school tend to over predict or under predict, and what’s your overall predicted. Just by that information though I’d say it’ll be hard, a 6 is what they would expect from most IB students

What if I have a 800 in SAT I Math, an 800 in SAT II Math II, many math awards at international level (I do better in those competitions than students who are a sure shot for a level 7 predicted).

Also, I don’t know my predicted yet. I got 7s in all the unit tests that we did as well as the course works that count towards my final mark. I just messed up the big exam at the end and got a 5.

Then you’re set, try to get a letter from your math teacher explaining how you got 7s all year round and that you had only one bad exam. I don’t think they would get your semester grades otherwise

Oh yea and I don’t know about how it works in your school, but in mine we found out our predicteds before they were sent and then most of us went and negotiated with our teachers (quite often we deserved higher too though) and it worked. So try talking to your teacher first, my math teacher luckily was nice

They have a strict policy that students cannot communicate with teachers about predicted grades.

Michigan doesn’t really care about predicted grades. They examine your app based on things you have already achieved. And IB results don’t come out until way after pre-admit decisions.

Not unless you are doing the diploma, in which case we only have predicted grades to show for the last year and a half of high school.
