How important are your grades earned in your senior year to the colleges that require a midyear report? I am guessing that they don't really impact the college's decision, unless you get a C+ or below.

lol, I just asked that question not too long ago. I still haven’t received an answer, but from what I heard, it is significant if you apply to schools that have mid-year reports, i.e. private schools. For UCs, it is important for augmented reviewed, but besides that the schools receive your application in November so it’s too late to have a significant impact and they don’t receive your actual transcript until you actually get accepted at the end of the year… I’m also worried about it as well because this year I have a 3.1-3.5 gpa and i avg 3.6, unweighted.

OK, thanks for the answer. But obviously the cumulative matters more. I have a 3.7 so far in my senior year, but a 3.0 for all other years. Opposite of you.

It solely depends on the school you are applying to some take into consideration all 4 years of high school or just Freshmen - Junior year, while UCs only consider Sophomore and Junior years, even though they do see your Freshmen year.

Mid term grades are looked at by selective colleges to determine if students they want to accept have kept up their grades. They generally won’t get you into a school you didn’t have the grades for at the end of junior year. Great senior grades help a lot for transferring, so everyone should keep that in mind.
