If you had the choice between either location to work at, which would you pick and why?

The only reason I could imagine to ever work on Wall Street is money.

^^^^What he said.

That depends a lot on what you want to do. Silicon Valley is mostly tech. Wall Street is mostly investment/banking.

Although tech companies have finance, it is not the same as working on IB. Just like there are tech jobs in banks, it is not the same as developing software for Goggle, Facebook or startups.

Both have very high cost of living. Wall Street has better public transportation. Some might say Silicon Valley has better weather, never too cold or too hot.

Just location alone is not enough for a decision.

Silicon Valley-California, Wall Street-NYC. I would assume silicon valley has more laid-back people while Wall street crowd seems to be very uptight. If you are into wearing all designer suits, eating at high class restaurants, all yuppie lifestyle the wall street but if you are into wearing jeans to works, working on high tech computers, transistors etc. then silicon valley is your pick. I would personally choose Wall Street for all the money and gargantuan bonuses hehe
