Simmons hall only for schreyers students??

Hi,

I got an on campus housing contract and was able to choose a room for me. Right now i am in simmons hall (south halls)
After i have choosed it successfully with the eliving system, I noticed that this hall is actually reserved for schreyes students. I am wondering if I am still able to stay in this room, because I am not a schreyer student?
As I said the system allowed me to pick this room.
In case I can stay in it, would it be strange because everyone is a schreyers student except of me? Or are there other normal students as well depending how many rooms are free?

Thanks for all answers!

you can stay. There are non-honors students in both simmons and atherton halls. They do expect better behavior than the other freshman dorms (not implying you would not act responsibly)

Thanks luvthej for your answer!

Can you may explain what you mean with behaving better?
Does living in those two halls imply more control and stricter life about the students? Or is it in sum a normal on campus experience?

It means no throwing up everywhere on weekends, no loud parties till 3 am during the week, and generally a les “wild”, more studious atmosphere than is typical with freshmen dorms where kids are on their own without parents for the first time. Overall, the students who can live there are expected to live a little more responsibly and be less immature than the other 18 year olds. There aren’t any more restrictions than for other dorms though and you can expect the usual shenanigans (parties, pranks, games, dorm rivalries, etc). It’s a very “American”, normal college experience, and the dorms are nice, so you picked well. :)

Haha, ok that sounds good, since I will not be a freshman and I’m 23 years old, so I guess that’s a good choice for me
I love to party and to have fun and what ever, but on the other had I am taking my study serious and I will not mess it up because of partying every night. It is just important to me to get involved, to make friends and to have an American college experience as Myos1634 described it. Thanks a lot for your help!!
