Simple but BURNING question about the application process! Please answer!

When a school has its own application and accepts the common app + supplimental, does the college prefer one of the other or is it your choice and they are virtually the same? My other question is the supplimental part jus ta simple page long thing for most schools or is it longer? And what does it generally ask and can i just find each colleges supplimental on their website?

Thanks.

Colleges don't care if you use the common app or their own.

The supp is usually a few essay questions, but mostly ones that can be answered in a paragraph -- nothing that goes on for pages. Mostly, "Why This College?"

Yes, on the website.

You will eventually be able to, but not all of the supplements are available yet. Give each school a quick call/ e-mail to confirm that you have the entire application.

Common app + supplement = complete application generally

Oh, and Duke also has a school report supplement in addition to their supplement as I remember.

Wake Forest's supplimental for ED was just like a "sign this contract and fill out some info no essay". Does that seem right or am I making a mistake? Could some one check that out for me?

Thanks

^^ For Wake Forest (and elsewhere), those applying ED must submit the common app, the ED supplement, AND the regular supplement. So you still have the regular supplement to fill out, which will have an essay and other stuff on it. It might not be out yet.

ok thanks... when do you think those come out sept?

It depends...a few for schools i'm applying to are out already but most are not...Idk about Wake.

"When a school has its own application and accepts the common app + supplimental, does the college prefer one of the other or is it your choice and they are virtually the same?"

This has been answered already, but when a school agrees to accept the common app, it must also agree to treat applicants who use the common app the same as those who use the school's own application.

Not all the supplements are up at the CA site, but, at least for my son, PDFs are available at the college sites. I think it is taking time for all those PDFs to be converted to forms.
