<p>Do you send the exact same app. to all of the colleges your are applying to?? I am asking this because my essay says something along the lines of "this is why I want to go to (school name)". So I do you send the exact same thing to each college or do you do 8 different apps (if your applying to 8 schools)? </p>

<p>That shouldn’t be something to mention on a common app essay (since it’s being sent to multiple schools!). If a school has a supplement that asks that question, then you could say why you want to go to X school. </p>
<p>However, you can still send alternate versions of the common app to each school, so if you wanted to write “this is why I want to go to (school name)” on your common app essay and have the essay be slightly different for each school, this is still possible (although it might not be worth your time, since you probably will still need to do supplementary essays tailed to each school–the common app essay should be something you can send regardless of school).</p>
