Najdorf, kjiggy, and cadillac, where in California will all of you live during the summer and how are you getting to Stanford during the workday? Do you live near there or are you driving or taking public transportation?

I got Immunology, my first choice! I will be living at home, commuting to Stanford every day via car. My friend will also be commuting so I guess we can carpool. (He’s doing some other research not related to SIMR.)

Hi guys, I got accepted to SIMR and got into Stem Cell Institute (first choice here, lol)

Can’t wait to meet you guys =D

Did any of you get the email about lab rankings? It says to e-mail it back by Monday at midnight… Does that mean before today at 11:59pm or Monday by 11:59?

In my experience Monday at midnight is Monday by 11:59pm, but I wouldn’t place any bets on it! Still, I think you’ll be fine if you have to e-mail it tomorrow.

I’ll be commuting by car as well, since I don’t live that far from stanford.

Yeah I looked at the other email and it says:

“-April 12th (Monday by midnight)- Lab rankings must be submitted to your teaching assistant”

This is 100% Monday at 11:59pm, right?

hey all
I also got accepted into the SIMR program!
Congrats to all of you who made it too.
I’m going to be working in Cancer Biology

about sending the lab rankings…
some institutes forgot to attach the excel spreadsheet to the email
so its a good idea to let the directors (whose emails should be given) know :)

Oh, what a silly blunder haha. I’m in immunology and I got the attachment, and I will be sending it tomorrow before midnight. Can’t wait to see you guys there! I assume most of you are juniors. Any seniors?

I’m running into major transportation problems. Does anyone here live in the Bay Area and would be kind enough to be willing to carpool with me to Stanford? D: Please?

i’m a junior :)

regarding my transportation, im going to be carpooling with my older sister who conveniently works at the Lucille Packard’s Childrens Hospital right next to where all the medical and research buildings are
although because i live in San Jose and I don’t live with her, I will have to commute half of the times… sigh… lol

cadillac, have you decided what your top 5 Immunology labs are?

Junior here!

Sorry Lemonesque for not getting back to you earlier. I did choose my top 5 labs and ultimately got assigned to my first choice lab under Professor Mark Davis. How about you guys?

Should we make a Facebook group, or is it too soon? I know that the 09 interns made one before the program actually started (I’m a creep, I know lol), but then again, that was when the website had a list up of accepted applicants.

Heh, we should make one later, I think.

I haven’t heard any news back from the cancer institute people. Have you?

Haha forblueskies, I’m creeping on last year’s page too! I’ve been waiting for a list of interns to create a group, but I’m starting to think they might not post one this year.

And I’m stem cell, not cancer, but I haven’t heard anything back either.

Lol, hi guys.

I can make a fb group if you want? Right now, lol…but yeah, the list of interns hasn’t been posted yet haha.

As for commuting, I’ll probably be driving there…unless I get lazy int he mornings haha.

Oh, also, are you guys bringing laptops? Idk if I should buy one now for SIMR and lug it around…or wait till August since I’m going to college anyway.

I don’t know if we will need laptops and I’m not planning on bringing one, but I have a netbook if I need to have a computer there.
