Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

OK, have to share a new taste. Maybe I’m way behind the times, but if you haven’t tried it. Elderflower liqueur. St. Germaine is the brand I bought to use in a drink recipe in the paper. It’s sweet but not syrupy sweet, floral, citrusy… Bought for the Southern Living champagne fizz but used it today muddled with cucumber and a bit of gin and tonic. Sophisticated. Delicious. Trying to figure out how to get those cucumber bits gracefully out of my glass because I know they will be tasty.

Sounds good dragonmom!

We brought back some Limoncello from Israel. I think it’s better than the stuff our kids brought back from Italy (though that was very good!) This is more lemony, more tart, maybe more of the rind flavor.

And Friday we finally went on a distillery tour at Woodford Reserve (we live about 2 hours from 6 or 7 major distilleries in KY). Great tour of a historic old Bourbon distillery and a sample at the end. We also brought a bottle home.

I have a new drink–Blend honeydew melon, lime juice, a little grated ginger, and ice. Add orange vodka to taste. VERY refreshing!

And sweetened only with fruit. ;)

I have a blenderful to share!

Who let the spam in SA?? Only spam served here is out of a can. The marmots love it.

Did you report the spam, jym, 'cause it’s gone! The marmots are depressed as they had slept in and missed the breakfast spam!

Sigh. I’ll open a can for them.

I thought they lived on peanuts & popcorn?

I could do with an Irish coffee this morning - maybe it will help me wake up.

Thought they lived on the stale cheetos under the table. But what do I know.
And yes, I reported the spam. Gotta keep the riff-raff outta SA. This is a respectable place.

noooo!! Please dont let SA become the new spamalot!

barkeep, I’ll have a double of whatever you are pouring. Family reunion logistics/issues/problems will be the death of me…

pass the cheetos down this way, too, please…

oh, yes, and barkeep, some champagne please, in honor of jym’s 29th anniversary!

Coming out from amongst the peanut shells to buy a round and wish my girl JYM a happy anniversary (I hope that you and hubby have killed all of those moles). If not, we’ll send the marmots after them<3 enjoy

You are such a sweetie, sybbs. Gonna need a coffee and Bailey’s this morning because some pump that is supposed to handle the condensation from the A/C decided to give up the ghost and instead of going to a concert with friends last night we ended up with their wet/dry vac and we spent the evening dealing with soggy/mildew-y stuff, wet carpet, ruined photos from DS’s eagle scout ceremony (10 years ago), etc. Do the marmots give backrubs? I could use one of those as well.

Oops, lemme get out the anniversary card. 29 years. Good times, broken A/C/flood and all.

ETA: Did I mention that we have to keep the A/C off til they get to us to repair the pump? This is the same system that was worked on earlier in June, so we have to use this one A/C company.

Just stopping in for a plate of buffalo wings. It’s noon somewhere, right?

OOOH gosmom!! Apologies. I did not see your sweet salutations!! A kir royale for youuuuuu!

You and hubby will be going out somewhere air conditioned to celebrate tonight I hope, Jym?

And a round for all my SA buddies!

SA is open early today and I’m poppin’ the champagne! I got a new job on Friday and resigned from the sucky job today.

Let’s all toast the wonderful feeling of walking away from a bad boss and a losing situation. Bottoms up! :D

Yay for the new job! :)

I’ll drink to that.

A Peach Bellini for me, please. Or maybe I should have something stronger. I volunteered to take my tween D back to school shopping with two of her friends. ;)

Congrats on the new job, DB!
