when should i SIR? and does early SIR mean priority housing options?

If you’ve determined to go to Cal, SIR ASAP.
Because you want to sign up for CalSO (Orientation) and Cal day and other stuff before the better dates run out.

No, it does not mean priority housing option, all housing application are processed after the deadline; submitting them earlier is not going to help.

i did it on my birthdaayy

Are events like CalSo and Cal Day held at the Berkeley campus? When are they held? I do not live in America so attending events all the way at Berkeley is kind of inconvenient.

yay i just submitted my sir, but for the SLR, it says that i have compeleted it, but i dont see a check next to the events message thingy…and also, it says that it will take approx 5-20 minute, but i literally took me like 1 min…did i do this right?

Yes, ones you did that checking boxes thingy, then it’s done.
I asked a Cal Alumini the same question too (surprised by how short the process is), and he said yeah, it’s just that.

Don’t worry about the checklist, it should disappear after two~three days.

@mickjagger
Cal Day is…4/16 is my memory didn’t go off, but sometime around that date.
CalSO is taking place around mid-June.

You don’t have to come to Cal day necessarily, but for CalSo, you have to; it’s a student Orientation day.

Plan ahead for the flight ticket, you have to do it some day.

you have to send SIR first in order to attend the orientation? But, CAL Day, anyone can simply come without SIR, right?

when will the directory be updated? it says one hour after u submit ur SIR, but i have yet seen my name on the list,

@xxCollegesxx
Of course.
SIR is due 5/1, and CalSo is on like 6/16 or something, you won’t be able to go without SIR.
Cal day is just like a campus open house, you can go w/ or w/o SIR.

Well, wait a day, you can wait.
