zoogies:

Thanks much. That'd be a huge help.

If not, I sent a message to their IT for a copy.

=(

Yeah if it's a traffic issue, then I'll get up at 5 am to work on it if I have to. And thanks zoogies, that would be great. Pressure's on ;)

Okay:

MIT Freshman Application

I hope this is legal, but at any rate it's insurance, just in case...of course, if you guys destroy my server...heh. Just remember to have pity on my $30/year shared hosting, which nothing on the servers on which MyMIT is hosted (probably all dedicated, redundant, etc, etc..."We're MIT, our data = perfect" :D)

Good luck, and mind the 3GB monthly bandwith! :D

Zoogies:

You are a lifesaver, but I just hope to not need to have to do that. Creating, all those boxes in PDF, ahh, I dont want to think about it.

I'm sure we'll stay way under 3GB...

Already downloaded it. Thanks very much. If we both get into MIT I'll make it up to you someday :D

lowofo:

lol, put it in your app. "If it weren't for me, half your early applicants would have been late."

now THAT would be funny.

w00t JUST GOT ONTO THE SITE for the 1st time today!

maverach:

Well, i can get into the log on page. I just cant log on.

EDIT: Wonderful, it works. Just slow. I wonder how many servers they have running for admissions.

This is really starting to kill me. I was planning to send it on Friday night, even though my final application was completed by Thursday. It makes me wonder if I should have sent it in on Thursday... I will not be leaving the house until this gets sent in.

"This is really starting to kill me. I was planning to send it on Friday night, even though my final application was completed by Thursday."

Same! Ahhhhh... I'm just gonna send the thing like within 20 seconds of the site coming up. I'm soooo tired of this. I don't want to be holding vigil again.

^_^

We've killed MyMIT again!

Maverach, lowofo, no problem =D

XD!

Haha I did exactly what you said mognoose. Even though the server was slow, I got in and just sent it...

Hrm, does anyone know how to access "Application Tracking?" It asks for MIT ID, but where do I get that ID?

Got two questions here:

1.) I'm wondering here, if the length exceeds the limit they allow (so you choose save anyway), but it fits fine on the PDF, do they let you submit?

2.) I accidentally added an extra class (on the self-reported coursework). Now, there's no option to remove the class, so how do I go about removing it?

Ah I can't believe its down again. I want to send it out tonight.

You should've received your MIT ID in the mail after you sent out Part 1 of the application (it may be in email too).

I believe it's WYSIWIG, so they should at least receive all materials okay even if it's over limit. I notice for the short answers, mine are hovering around 100 words but they only cover 60% of the space.

Well, this is better than painfully slow loading periods. The tech people are being innovative on the fly.

On the self-reported coursework, there IS an option to remove the class, though it doesn't look it. When you do the drop-down, notice there's a selectable space. Select that, and voila! Class gone.

zoogies:

I'd rather the slow loads.

CRAP. It's down again. this is INSANE!

copy and paste in google, including the cache part:

cache:http://admissions.mit.edu/AdmissionsWeb/appmanager/AdmissionsWeb/Main

True, I would rather have slow loads too, but I'm sure MIT thinks otherwise.

easternborder: interesting, the working cache shows the site itself is not down (i.e, the images all load properly, and if everything is out that would not happen), but I don't think you're allowed to do anything anyways.
