This process is quite overwhelming and confusing...

Major: Human Biology (not dead set on this)

AP Scores:
-English Language and Composition - 5
-US History - 3
-Psychology - 4
-Human Geography - 4
-World History - 4

I know that I should take CAT 1 but I'm not so sure about the other courses.

Because I am not set on my major, should I be focusing on completing all of my GEs or should I incorporate some classes that are related to my major?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
THANKS!

CAT 1, GE, and if you are staying in a science major (bio or engineering dpts), then basic chem, bio, physics and calculus classes. (CHEM 6A-C, MATH 20A-C, PHYS 1 series for bio, PHYS 2 for engineering, and BILD 1-3)

They depend on your major but MATH 20 series and CHEM series are very safe bets since everyone has to take it unless you AP out of them (but you didn’t so CHEM 6A and MATH 20A are your most likely options).

If you’re not planning on staying in the sciences, then disregard the above.

Hey there! So I’m currently a first year UCSD student in sixth college and I’d be more than happy to help you pick classes over PM/facebook! I can give you advice on CAT/Chem/math professors and stuff too. I’m a bioengineering major, so our first year classes are pretty much the same.

But to simply answer your question, you’d be taking CHEM 6A, MATH 20A, CAT 1, and either a GE or another major class. I’d recommend saving your GE’s for upperdiv standing when classes get (surprisingly) easier to get an A in. If you wanna take a GE, make SURE you check grade distributions before signing up. =)
