Well I'm a sophomore in SJSU but I realized that I don't think I can handle another 2 years here.. I'm really interested in transferring to UCLA or UCB and was wondering what would be my odds..
The major I will be applying to is Computer Engineering - Computer Science and Engineering in UCLA or Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in UCB.

My GPA is very good (4.00) and I do meet almost all the pre-reqs (Missing just one)

I haven't been involved in school much however. I'm only in one club which doesn't really mean much and only worked for one summer as a tutor.

I'm starting to doubt that I will even be considered or a shot because I'm at the low end of the pool (from a CSU) and my extra-curriculars are weak.

Any thoughts/opinions/facts are greatly appreciated!

Because you are from a CSU, I would say you have little chance. But your GPA is great. I know for sure that Davis, Irvine, etc will accept you. UCB and UCLA, I am not sure. But apply anyways

you can look up the historical rate of transfers from 4-year schools using the UC Statfinder website. Odds probably aren’t great on average, but you have a great GPA. If you don’t apply you’ll never know…

In the chart linked in #5, it looks like SJSU had the second highest admit rate for transfer applicants from non-UC, non-CC schools at 21.43% (Defense Language Institute had 3 out of 4 admitted for 75.00%). Overall admit rate for transfer applicants from non-UC, non-CC schools was 7.78%.

A number of other schools with at least 5 applicants had 0 admits:

California Lutheran
Cal Poly SLO
CSU Dominguez Hills
CSU Hayward (East Bay)
Occidental
UC Berkeley Extension
Santa Clara
San Francisco
USC
