Fall 2014 Transfer Chance

Hello,
I'm applying as a transfer student (70+ credits done) to UCLA, UC-San Diego,UC-Santa Crazu, UC-Berkley.
I have a 3.1 GPA, (it will be going up this semester). I'm transferring from a CC (not in Cali). All pre-reqs, with high level maths will be done by then. I've also been extremely involved since high school, and I've had various internships(in top companies) in my field of study, along with other extracurricular activities on campus.

I know the GPA could be better, but would the experience in the field and extra actives be helpful?

I would say no chance at any of them. Avg gpa (for all UCs combined) is around 3.2-3.4 I believe.

[Transfer admission profile | UC Admissions](http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses/san-diego/transfer-profile/index.html)

UCSD 56% accept rate; 93% from California Community Colleges.
UCLA 29%; 93% from California Community Colleges; 3.72 avg gpa.

CC from other states are treated no differently than 4 yr universities.
FYI pre-reqs are kinda hard to do if you aren’t in a CCC because they require articulation agreements.

ONLY UCLA, UCB, UCI and UCM even read personal statements for transfers. Your grades are too low for UCLA and UCB and UCI tho.

Sadly I agree with bomerr.

But Bomerr can you cite a source for only those 4 UC’s even reading personal statements please and thanks.

CSTransfer14: You didn’t say in your post what you major is, but I’m guessing for your name it’s Comp-Science. That’s a low GPA especially from an out of state school to apply to UC’s. I’d say you may have a low-mid shot at applying to UCM, UCSB, maybe even UCR, but unless you are extremely extremely diverse there’s no chance with a 3.1 GPA, coming from an out of state school for UCB or UCLA sorry :/.
If you somehow took a lot of units in Fall and Spring and Aced them all and bumped your GPA up to a 3.5 you’d have a great chance at UCSB, UCM, UCR, and UCI, but like I said before unless you’re really really diverse like being an injured minority military vet etc…

Good luck though, i’d consider applying to CSU’s much better chances there.

OKAY plz chance me. Worried about my GPA because I was going through the 2012 UCSD decision thread and everyone that got accepted for econ major had like 3.7+ Gpa

I’m an econ major and I will have a 3.5ish GPA by Fall 2013.
All Prereqs done except for CALC-3 which I plan to take for Spring semester. IGETC completed.
Just volunteer work from high school, but NO EC’S. Average Personal Statement, I would say.
So yea, what’s my chance at UCSD for econ?

Did you TAG to UCSD? I think the TAG there requires a 3.5 and this is the last year they’re doing it.

Page 8-9 is your source.

Nope, I tagged to UCSB as backup. My GPA right now is right below 3.5 so I didn’t want to risk it for SD.

refreshe18 are you a CCC student? If so I would think you have a chance with all pre-reqs and igetc done.

Thanks!
