SJSU vs UC Merced (Computer engineering)

I am stuck debating between these two colleges. I need some insight as to where UC Merced would rank near San Jose State In Computer Engineering.

SJSU has a strong computer engineering program and is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. UC Merced has been in existence for less than 10 years, is located in the middle of nowhere, and has not yet established any reputation in any field.
