Ski bum looking for online courses

Im 21 years old, Ski Patrol for vail resorts in Colorado and California. Ive been removed from school for a few years now and was wanting to start school again. Only problem is I still have no idea what state Im going to end up living in so the whole residency is an issue. I figured I could maybe take my basic classes online and than transfer to a college of my choice. Could anyone give me any assistance please? Just looking for some cheap reliable online colleges that will transfer

Many community colleges offer online classes so you could look into that.

De Anza Community College is one that definitely offers online courses. Regis University and Southern New Hampshire also offer full undergrad online degrees.

If you’re < 24 and anything short of totally economically-disconnected from parents or guardian, your state of residence will be that of your parents. You’d need to be an independent student for your own domicile to determine state residency, and for that you’d need to be able to demonstrate a self-supporting income that exceeds your cost of living. You’d have to claim yourself on your state taxes (your parents couldn’t claim you) and you may need some other proof of non-parental support such as a notarized statement.

By far the cheapest way to earn college classes is to self study and take CLEP tests. You just need to be sure you are later heading to a university that accepts CLEP credit.

Regarding online courses
Check the University of Utah. It looked to me as if on-line core courses were $600 to $800 per class.

Check the University of Texas. On-line Extension classes include some reasonable core courses and are $500 or so, I think.

Three reputable full-accredited universities that offer extensive distance ed. programs are:

There are many different ways to teach online classes. Some require that you log in at specific times, and/or for specific periods of time. Others don’t have those kinds of restrictions. Be sure to find out what the requirements might be for the classes that you are interested in so that you can find the program that works best for you.

Good luck!
