Will internationals be emailed on 23rd or earlier?
It says by Friday, the 23rd. So I guess could be prior to. No way to know.
Hey guys â just so you know, my daughte, living in the States, got her ED2 acceptance via snail mail. But it did arrive two days later than we thought it would. On Saturday the 17th, instead of Thursday, the15th of February. Fortunately for her - it was a package full of stuff - not just a letter.
I really feel for all of you sitting there on pins and needles for what seems like forever. Been there, done that. So best of luck to you all.
And if for some reason you donât get the package you want and only get the letter you donât want to open â itâs really not the end of the world. Remember: itâs not the school you go to â itâs what YOU DO at the school you go to.
good luck all. 2 years ago when my D applied, I vaguely remember the acceptance coming on a Saturday. And because of snailmail some acceptances arrived several days later (even in the same cities it varied).
So just because others start getting acceptances, donât panic. It could be a few days later for you. And with a Norâeaster almost upon the east coast- that may delay the mail even longer.
Have any non URMs in the states gotten a letter yet?
I am URM but did not receive any letter. That means I am not accepted?
@Cariar I doubt anyone here will be able to tell you for sure. Maybe you can call admissions or just hang tight for a little longer.
Is it the case that all international acceptances are already sent and the remaining ones are just rejections or waitlists?
And how do you determine if you are a URM?
Accepted Skidmore RD!!! ((((official letters arenât out yet))))) from bkk
@fatosaurus How did you find out??
BKK as in Bangkok? Did you get an email?
yep
thereâs an alumni event this weekend that they want students to attend, so they sent us emails here with an informal congratulations
From posts in last yearâs âSkidmore Class of 2021! RD Official Thread!â it appears that they mailed the letters on Wednesday March 22nd, 2017 and updated the website by Thursday morning to indicate that letters had gone out. Domestic applicants received the letters over the next few days but presumably admissions was aiming for the majority of applicants to receive the letters on Friday March 24th along with emails that went out to international students on Friday March 24th, 2017. If they stick to that pattern this year, then things may go in the mail today and applicants should mostly receive them Thur/Fri/Sat.
Our mail comes very late in the day but you can sign up for a free online account for USPS âinformed deliveryâ (informeddelivery.usps.com) and in the morning you can see scanned images of anything that is arriving at your house that day. Handy for anyone who might be traveling when admissions letters arrive or just wants a sneak peak a few hours early.
Good luck to everyone who is waiting!
@MDCollegeHunter Have you seen whatâs on the website? Top of the page: http://www.skidmore.edu/admissions/
@mrjsmom Yes, thank you, I saw the âby Friday, March 23rdâ on the website. I was just adding some info that last year when they said âby Friday, March 24thâ, they ended up posting the letters in the mail on Wednesday so that applicants would receive them by Friday. So maybe the same will be true this year?
@MDCollegeHunter That would be awesome!
Iâm an international student. Asked Skidmore via facebook when theyâll send out our emails, and they said Friday. Fingers crossed!
I got a call a few weeks ago letting me know I got the Porter Scholarship from Skidmore, and I received an official package for the scholarship in the mail then (again, they told me official acceptance would be mailed on the 23rd). I actually got an email from UPS letting me track the package so I knew when it was coming in the mail â donât know if thatâs gonna be the same for RD decision packets but it did arrive in like two or three days, if that helps.
Skidmore doesnât have the âby march 23rdâ thing on their website anymoreâŠmaybe that means they sent out the mail?
