Hi and congrats to everyone who got in already!
If decisions are being mailed out next Friday when should we expect to actually receive them in the mail? Super anxious because after two rejections from NEU and BU I’m really banking on Skidmore
Hi and congrats to everyone who got in already!

@heyheyheyheyhey - I would guess the following Monday – what makes you think they will be mailed Friday?
@amcquilk They’re going to be mailed by March 23. It’s on their website
@amcquilk I think I read earlier in this thread that decisions would be mailed on Friday. I could be wrong though
It’s on the website:
“Admissions Decision Information: The Admissions Office will mail decisions by Friday, March 23. Applicants with U.S. mailing addresses will receive their decisions via U.S. postal mail. Applicants with non-U.S. mailing addresses will receive their decisions via e-mail.”
Since it says “by Friday” they could be mailed sooner and Friday at the latest (via USPS so receipt dates will vary).
@mrjsmom by “mailed” do they mean regular mail or email? Do you know?
Regular mail (USPS). At least that’s my reading of it.
When have letters been mailed in past years? Usually when a college says “by” a certain date they release it a bit early
Do they mean that decisions will be received by March 23rd or they will be mailed so we will get them later than March 23rd?
Looks like they were received on the 24th last year. There’s a thread for RD 2021 you can sift through.
Been reading the RD 2021 thread. I had no idea Skidmore was so selective? I thought the acceptance rate was 30 something percent but apparently that was like 2 years ago. I’m kind of mad about that because I thought Skidmore was a 50/50 but now it’s looking like a reach…
I know, it seems like this year all of the schools are extra competitive. I think that increases in applications are the main factor, but also the popularity of ED is making the RD rate drop even lower. It sucks.
Right? Seems like this year you can only get into schools with <30% acceptance rate if you found the cure for cancer or something
am feeling exactly the same heyhey
So I am confused. Should all students who have been accepted have received an email already? Or only some?
@Burke1 No, only certain students have received emails (URM)…the regular decision notifications will be mailed by the 23rd (at least that’s what the site says)…http://www.skidmore.edu/admissions/apply/calendar.php
unfortunately Skidmore still does reg mail, not email.
What is a URM?
@eiknarf Underrepresented Minority (I think). It was further back in this discussion.
guys it literally says, people with US mailing addresses will be sent physical letters while people with non-US mailing addresses aka international applicants will be emailed
Guys im so nervous. Idk what to do between now and whenever the snail mail arrives bc skidmore is all i can think about
