DD and her two best friends all wait listed. All three in top 10 of class, with ACTs between 30 and 35. One is valedictorian. All three take only honors and APs and do many sports and other ECs. My daughter- the “weakest” of the bunch, showed considerable interest. Very surprised not one got in tho between them there are lots of good schools. Still DD was quite disappointed. Congrats to those who did get in
Every year there are “hot” schools that see a bump in applications and interest level. Skidmore seems to have done quite well this year. They purposely took more in the ED1 group and may have been surprised by the quantity and quality of applications in later rounds. Good luck to your D as she decides which offer to accept.
My son’s acceptance letter/package went to the wrong address, so we had ten extra anxiety-filled days of waiting for the news. Luckily, it was worth it: he was accepted into Skidmore and the London program. The Skidmore spot is held until May 1 (like other colleges), but the London spot is first come, first serve for those invited to the program. We don’t know how many applicants are accepted for the 36 London spots, but my son wanted to make sure his spot was safe so he put in his deposit ASAP. (I thought we were going to revisit a couple of other schools to which he was accepted, but he didn’t want to risk it.) He is VERY excited about London, and about joining his older sister at Skidmore in January. Happy Ending! I hope everyone else is getting excited about their choices now too.
