Skidmore RD 2023

@worldofwonder14 She uses the car quite a bit as not many of her friends have one at school and she doesn’t drink so she’s the DD now that everyone is 21. She does alot of bringing friends to and from the airport for holidays as well and is always the driver for trips to Lake George or concerts in Albany. Upper classman generally live in the (very nice) apartments and so there is grocery shopping to do too which a car is handy for. I believe it is $100±/year for a parking permit.

My daughter is still a junior, and we just visited Skidmore over President’s Weekend. WOW! It quickly became one of her top choices. It’s a great school and she could really imagine herself there. She would love to go back next month and see the Skidmore production of Cabaret (and ideally sit in on a philosophy class), though not sure we can make it work schedule-wise.

It is so great to hear these glowing reviews from @1bamom, @lauriejgs, and @NEPatsGirl. Congratulations, @worldofwonder14, @astonmartin18, and @MEA401 on your acceptances!

My daughter starting in the fall as well! So exciting!

@astonmartin18 @MEA401 @londonfab5 Are you guys going to accepted students day?

We are not…I’ve heard that its geared more towards kids who are deciding. My daughter spoke to a couple of accepted kids who aren’t either. I was excited to go up again, but oh well.

worldofwonder14 - We are going up April 15 - our son was accepted ED1 and although it is not absolutely required to go up since he is already committed to attending we think it is a good idea.

Waitlisted…

Is everyone hearing tonight? Daughter just got waitlisted as well.

Also waitlisted. Very disappointed.

All of my friends have been waitlisted. Do they reject any students?

Dd was very surprised and disappointed to be wait-listed at Skidmore. She really liked the school, and finances permitting, was really interested. She’s already into some great schools which she would love as well, but Skidmore really had a place in her heart.

Accepted!

SAT1390 superscore1400

@WOWow01, my D was rejected tonight. The letter did say they had the highest number of applications ever: 11,000 for 710 spots.

Waitlisted. I’m surprised and shocked

My D just got rejected too. SAT 1370, GPA 3.7. Very disappointing.

Accepted! But waaaay too expensive. I’m still waiting on a few more.

My daughter was accepted!! So please. It ismy first choice for her. We will see what she decides. Registered for April 5 admitted students day.

I think there must be a typo in the letter - 710 acceptances for 11,000 spots would result in an acceptance rate of 6 percent - lower than Harvard. Could have meant 1,700 or so - that would put it at 15 percent - which is still a lot lower than last year’s rate.

Rejected :((
