Skidmore Round 2 ED

Skidmore says Round 2 ED decisions should be received by Feb 15 - that is tuesday.

I'm guessing they mailed them on Friday (the 11th), since the end of a week seems a natural point.

Post when you receive, and good luck!

(I had posted similarly in the Round 1 thread, but thought Round 2 deserved its own thread. I'm a little suprised by the lack of activity on the board though!)

Mail came today. Unfortunately, no joy. (Haven’t opened the letter, it is for DD, but just a plain envelope, not the one with the “You’re In” that others have reported.)

Good luck to all of you.

Can those of you getting accepted/declined please post short summaries of your stats (gpa, SAT/ACT scores, AP classes taken) for a current junior looking to apply next fall?

thanks

I didn’t apply ED, but I did apply to be considered as a finalist for the Filene Music Scholarship, which I found out yesterday that I was accepted into, as well as the college itself. Anyway, I have around an 89 GPA, have taken (including this year) 7 AP Classes: AP European (4), AP US History (5), AP English Language (4), AP Enviro, and AP Literature. The last two I am taking as a senior, so don’t have a score for yet. My total SAT is 1940, or 750 CR, 550 Math, 640 Writing. Obviously, there’s a bit of a discrepancy between my math and CR scores, but that’s reflected in my high school transcript, and I believe they understood that math was my weakness.
Because I was a little worried about my math/science areas and shortcomings thereof, I did as much as possible otherwise to showcase my talents both in high school and during the actual application process itself. I had an alumni interview, applied for the scholarship, but during my freshman year played in the pit band for the musical, during my junior year was the piano accompanist for the musical (which I was paid for), and this year have an actual role.

Even though I’m not in NHS or any of that ********, I still got in. Personally, I believe that’s because I put a lot of work into my essay and showed that I had a lot of other stuff going on and that I didn’t put the math classes that I hated as a top priority. They like creative thought, of course, and all of music stuff probably compensated for my lower GPA. This was pretty lengthy, sorry about that, but I tried to give a thorough answer. God knows that a year ago when I was looking for the same sort of stuff I was frustrated by a lack of information.

Hope this helps.

I applied regular decision, but got a call and an “unofficial” letter of acceptance because I won the porter presidential scholarship. Here are my stats. Hope this helps.
