<p>In my school, you need 3 science credits to graduate high school, which I will have at the end of this school year as a sophomore (took one class in middle school). Technically, from there on out I don't have to take any more sciences but I am interested in takes APES next year as a junior. The typical track, however, is biology (9th grade) to chemistry (10th grade) to physics (11th grade) to a personal choice senior year. </p>
<p>I'm wondering if I take APES next year as a junior and opt out of taking a science class senior year if I will be looked upon negatively by college admins, making this a bad choice or if it's something that has been done before with no issue. I've tried speaking with my guidance counselor about this but that's been no help. </p>

<p>What is your likely college major, and where do you plan to apply? Find out their requirements, and keep in mind that your 8th grade science may count toward your HS graduation, but it might not count toward entry requirements at your chosen college. If you are planning a science or engineering major, you should continue your science classes. </p>
<p>If you won’t need science as part of your college major, it might not matter - but consider whether your guidance counselor is likely to consider your class schedule to be rigorous or not. If you’re going to be a Music or English major, those extra science classes might not matter.</p>
<p>I’m not sure… maybe law or engineering. I’m not certain of anything yet. My #1 pick as of now is the University of Florida. I think that my senior schedule will be rigorous enough: I plan to take 5 AP’s senior year(Calc, Lit, US Gov, Psych & Econ) and I was just thinking maybe I could benefit from the extra credit, but I really don’t want to make a stupid decision and regret it.</p>
