Brah (bro)
guh (girl)
yolo

I don’t quite think this counts, but in Oklahoma everything is “real” nice. Nobody says really. Football is very popular here, and metaphors/ similes involving foodball are VERY popular. All in all, people just use the mainstream slang words that are popular at the time, e.g. totes, legit, swag, YOLO, etc.

lol a lot of ppl here are from the bay area…including me YOLO

Legit
YOLO
Swag (my friend even used it in an essay to describe this one character XD)

@Swinter, yes, I’m from Tucson…met a couple CC’ers who are from the Phoenix area. Not that many though…

I’m from the Phoenix area. :D

Cool How hot was it there? It was around 107-108 here in Tucson…

people around here say YOLO a lot. the expression is sort of annoying

legit
hella

the usual bay area

^ right on time

We have a lot of slang here.
Get hip: along the lines of “to become informed.” You can get hip with a hype, like “if you’re not hip with adventure time, you’re gay.” Or you can use it about a person, but that’s not really common.
Thirsty: desperate.
Salty: sassy, mean, having an attitude problem
froyo: frozen yogurt.
we also have slang pertaining to towns. Like this shopping center is nicknamed this because we’re cool like that.
we like to say ratchet, trifling (did that ever get popular in other areas?), totes, and other immature teenage things.
Legit and swag have kind of died. If someone says YOLO, they get yelled at for being annoying.

We also say:
Guhh
Going ham
blown
siced
bait
bet

I’ve got some, but it’s not really related to where I live as a geographic area but rather the community I live in.
Shall we say that in most dealings I have with people not of my community I have to filter a lot out of my vocabulary, as nobody else would understand?

Wow! There aren’t that many people from the south, us TEXANS, say(or at least in my area):
Y’all (All the time, there is no “you all” in our vocabulary)
Sweet
Nice
Cool
Whatev
Dude
Ya
Fixin, makin, doin(etc. 'in at every endin)
Oh and everything is almost slurred together like, prolly(probably), Sundy(Mundy, Tuesdy, etc.), Watcha(What are ya), Dontcha(Don’t ya)

@Kaeroze, went to Dallas last year, everyone was saying, “Y’all” :)

My history teacher in 8th grade was from Texas, and she would use “Y’all” in pretty much every sentence.

Haha it’s easier to say! I’ve tried “You all” a couple of times, but it doesn’t sound right! At least nobody says “Howdy” and “ain’t” :D

“Shizz” “Stone” “Swag” “Beast” “YOLO” “Howdy”

My history teacher from 7th grade always said “Nawlins.”

My social studies teacher had an eastern Appalachian accent and he would always say ‘Y’all’ and ‘Howdy’.
