Fordham is a pretty difficult school to get into, so why is this not a more active sub-forum?

I think only the most competitive schools in the country (top 30-40) have a very large posting response. Fordham has some decent activity on this site and more than in past years. It is highly competitive but not yet most competitive.

roger that!

yeah.. we all should post more.. fordham is great.

My D iwill be a senior this fall and is interested in Fordham.

We visited Rose Hill Campus about a week ago and she wants to see the Lincoln Center Campus too.

She is interested in English/Liberal arts and Art,Photography too.

In the film we viewed during the info session the Lincoln Center campus was discussed. It looks like an exciting location in the theatre district. However are students residing thier primarily dancers, performers etc.?

I am wondering how prevelent the non-performance art student body is and are classes mainly catered to that field? Would a student who is a non-performance person feel out of the loop?

She wants to take studio art courses and photography classes along with her Liberal arts and emphasize English and writing courses. She does not know what she wants to major in yet though. Being exposed to different classes would be great.

If a student who has attended/attends the Lincoln Center campus could respond or anyone with info about the location.........that would be appreciated very much.

Particularly interested in what is there in the way of art or photography for a student. Galleries, studios, etc.

Also, how much of a pain is it to ride the RAMVAN back and forth between campuses? And do most students get the campus thet request on thier application or is it guarenteed?

Thanks!

Hi luliztee, I am not enrolled under the "artistic" wing of the University, but I can tell you for sure that the Lincoln Center campus is not strictly for the arts. It houses the school of Liberal Studies which covers many majors. Probably all the same majors that are covered at Rose Hill are covered at LC with the exception of the Business School and a few others. The same goes for LC which has a couple of majors like Dance and Theater which are not covered at RH.

The RamVan is a great way to commute between the different campus and to get to the west side of the city, although it's not always the quickest, it varies at what time you use it. If you take the RamVan during rush hour a 25min trip can turn into an hour, easy. If you want to get to midtown or downtown on the east side its usually better to take the Metro North down to Grand Central, 20 min tops.

I know for a fact that you get placed on the campus that you apply for unless the program you applied for is at a specific campus like business which is at RH. If you have further questions give Res Life a call and I'm sure they will love to be of service to you 718-817-3080.
