SLP - SLPA programs and grad school

I am currently a junior at CPP majoring in MIS (Music). I recently fell in love with Speech Language Pathology. Because I am majoring in something other than communication disorders, communication, speech therapy, etc., I must take a post-bacc program prior to even applying to graduate school.

Here is a plan. Tell me if you think this is smart?

I am taking 14 units on average a quarter at CPP finishing up my bachelors. I will start the 2 yr AA program in SLPA at an accredited community college to gain contacts in the industry, letters of recommendation, work history (in the industry itself), and experience so that when the time arises to apply to grad school for speech language pathology, I will have an advantage.

I know this is mostly based on how much I can handle and if the two will coincide or clash etc. But I'm asking anyone out there if they have ever done this before? Known of anyone? If it will even be a good idea as far as advantage? I'd love to hear thoughts.

Thank you ahead of time!
