Hello,
I was accepted into Saint Louis University’s BS/MD program, and I have a few questions about it…
-
I heard that because the SLU Medical School’s acceptance is conditional, not everyone who meets the 3.65 GPA requirement gets accepted by the end of their Sophomore year; does anyone know the percentage of students that apply through Med Scholars meet this GPA requirement but not get in?
-
I was accepted into the Honors Program as well as the BS/ MD program. I do not think that my acceptance into one affected or led to my acceptance into another, but is it wise or advantageous to do both, be an honors student/ med scholar?

Accepting a BS/ MD program essentially places a “safety net” as it somewhat guarantees that I will achieve my dream of becoming a physician. However, I was also accepted into the University of Virginia, a very good school closer to home. Is it wise to choose your dream undergrad school over your dream profession? I know that medical school’s do not really care about which undergrad you will be attending and that its harder to get a high GPA in UVA (as a premed). I guess the possibility of me getting accepted to med school is much higher in SLU, but ahhhh… idk. I have been stressing the past week.
I love UVA, but idk if it’s wise to choose UVA over SLU.
- thanks in advance to anyone who replies
