SLU or Marquette???

which is better?

Didnt you ask that yesterday in another very similar thread? Though that other thread got hijacked by someone on the issue of academic freedom at Jesuit schools. My answer has not changed. Academically they are clones, in my view. And that isnt a slam or a negative. Its a positive. Both excellent schools.

Marquette has a SUPERB basketball team. SLU is struggling this year and is in the Atlantic 10 with Fordham, Xavier, St. Bonaventure, UNC-Charlotte, Dayton etc.

I really think you need to visit both campuses and decide from there.

if you want to keep asking about marquette please put it all into one thread
you already have 2 other ones about jesuit schools/marquette and what is better and all
it makes the boards cluttered

Having visited Marquette and loved it, I can definitely vote yea to it.

However, we have not visited SLU, but son's best friend will probably go over Mardi Gras.

Are you a senior?

Have you been accepted?

Having not explored SLU personally, I cannot give an opinion, but we get lots of brochures from them.

Actually, I have talked to someone whose son played baseball there. They said the campus is gorgeous and like Disneyland. It looks that way from the brochures and the video they had on their website.

If you want to go BME, I think the program is excellent at Marquette. We actually visited with a representative from that department when we went this summer, and we were so impressed.

My son wants a relatively small college, not big into sports, but wants to be near a city.

Don't know where SLU fits into that, but Marquette seemed like a good fit to him.

What are you interested in studying?

What area of the country are you from?

You can message us if you want.
