small comfort to deferred rejectees

hey ... I was rejected in the RD round after being deferred ED. In case anyone is in the same situation, I thought it might comfort you to know that a Dartmouth admissions officer said they typically don't waitlist EDers. From personal experience I know this is not worth much, since I mean we just wanted to get in ... but at least to me that rejection seemed really harsh. Like did I get worse since they deferred me? It seemed the least they could do was waitlist ... Anyway, I talked to the admissions officer (since there's virtually nothing to lose) and she said they consider it unfair to keep you waiting on the incredibly slim chances of the waitlist after you've already been waiting to be rereviewed since December. Anyway, hope this is of some relief to any of you who felt like I did after seeing that crushing rejection.

And, more optimistically, to everyone who got in -- CONGRATS! (and, as if there could be a debate, GO TO DARTMOUTH!)
