Small-scale labs--BS.

I dislike small scale chemistry! Intro chem has the most tedious lab I have taken(or seen) in my entire life. I mean, ok, it is cheap and environmnentally correct, but come on. Without fire, boiling solutions, and explosions, how fun can chemistry be? Plus the whole miniscule utensils are so tame--it is really difficult and frustrating to get any results. Paying FULL oos tution, one would hope to get some real laboratory experience or at least more exciting stuff than high school. But no, we have to use miniature tools, which makes straighfoward experiments needlessly convoluted. Wouldn't using the real stuff in a lab be beneficial in helping us to get aquainted with the actual equipment and typical procedure? Or would it be better to use straws and redesign a whole new, useless alternative instead? What is next--people in class sitting on the floor because there are no "chairs" left? Wait, that already happens. Maybe I will just go to the gym and blow off some steam...DOH, the line was huge so I came back.

I feel like I am in kindergarten using all those tiny plastic tools for god's sake.

Anyways, it is just a personal rant, have a good day.
