Hi, I'm a Junior who attends a very small, private high school (roughly 65 kids in my class). The way I have been given information about my academic standing in the school is horrendous. They refuse to release things like class rank and GPA, so all the information I have about my statistics as a student are based on estimation and comparisons with other students.

From what I can tell, I have an UW GPA of around 3.5 and a W GPA of around 3.8. I am definitely in the top 15 kids in my class (only 14 qualified for NHS based on GPA) and am most likely in the top 10 (a lot of juniors' grades are dropping and only 3 other kids are taking more than one AP class).

What concerns me is that, in a school like mine, top 10% is a whopping 7 kids. When I see statistics like, "80% of our applicants were in the top 10% of their class," and I have no way of knowing if I am or not, it is both frustrating and disconcerting.

So, my question is: will colleges look down on me if I am in the top 10 but not in the top 10%? My top choices right now are WPI, RPI, and NEU, and I'm looking into other similarly ranked engineering schools. I think I would be a good fit for these schools, based on the impression I got from them at visits, but I don't want them to look down on me for going to a small school.

Thanks in advance :)
