Smith Class of 2019 ED Results Thread

We'll all be receiving our ED decisions at some point today, so I figured that there should be a thread for people to post results in. I copied the template from another thread. When you post results using the given format, this thread can serve as a valuable resource for future applicants. OMG, I'm so nervous right now... Good luck everyone!

Here's what the template should look like:

[ b]General Comments:**

Good morning and Have a nice day! I'm so scared..

Good luck to all. For those accepted, let your parents know we have a group for them on FB, “Smith College Parents and Families.” Not supposed to link on here so I won’t. Lots of good info and support.

Has the “Residence Life Information Form Spring 2015” popped up in everyone’s Admission Menu? I’m not even a transfer student, so it must just be some sorta mistake…

@oimygoodness Yes, that popped up for me as well, but I am a potential transfer.

Decision letters are posted on BannerWeb!!!

I don’t see the point in posting all these statistics. They are meaningless. So much else is involved.

@excanuck99 I think that when an accepted Smithie who is on the lower end of traditional achievement (but has other awesome traits) posts her stats, it can inspire similar applicants who would otherwise feel like they had no chance.

I think this will be helpful for future prospective students. I would have really loved a thread like this.

Weaknesses: Math (all C’s)

[] School Type: International (IB)
[] Ethnicity: South Asian
[] Gender: Female
[]Income Bracket: Low- would rather not mention
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): My older sister was Class of 2011, being a PR living in an under developed country like Nepal, having been exposed to two cultures, being accepted into the ONLY IB school in Nepal and ranking in the top percentile, and the good grades were hooks I suppose. [/ul]Reflection

[ul]
[] Strengths: My essays. Both my commonapp and supplement were pretty great if I must say so myself. My grades also, and my extra curricular activities.
[] Weaknesses: My SAT score was low I suppose… But then it wasn’t required for me. Still…
[] Why you think you were accepted: My application as a whole was pretty good come to think of it. My essays and teachers’ recs were definitely my strongest points but I think I was able to convey the real me to Smith through my application and that probably made the biggest difference.
[li] Where else were you accepted: Nowhere; I applied ED 1 to Smith and got accepted! [/ul]
[/li]

General Comments: I think you shouldn’t be scared about whether or not you’ll get int even before applying! I say go for it; try your best. Focus on your grades, try to prepare for the Standardized test and write essays that show the real you. Colleges already know about your grades and stuff, so don’t let your essay be redundant! Be confident and give it your best. Remember; there’s tons of colleges out there and you cant get into every single one but you can still try your best. Once again, my motto for this entire process: Hope for the best but prepare for the worst! Good luck!
