Did scholarship notification only come in hard copy? Any email or update to the portal?
Email to check the portal. Her package was a Smith tee shirt. Nice touch and much appreciated!
@Auracle The difference is $5000 per year, plus Zollman recipients also get the Stride paid research opportunity. And Iām not sure if they do this for all Zollman/Stride recipients, but they offered to fly my D out for accepted students weekend (we live in Chicago). Sheās a white kid from the suburbs, so it wasnāt a diversity fly-in. She received her Zollman notification in the snail mail last year, but Stride recipients also received it by snail mail, so the email āletterā seems to be new this year.
Hope that helps!
@smcirish
They offer Stride to fly out too.
@OldbatesieDoc We already received our t-shirts last week.
The STRIDE scholarship notification came via email. We are expecting another package today from Northampton, I can only guess its the official package with everything in it.
I was at Smith today - confirmed that all merit aid information has been sent out and there will be no more notifications coming.
@CValle so does this mean decisions were already sent out? The dean of admission said they would be released the 23rd, but I wasnāt sure if they would be postmarked that day or if they were just being put online that day.
@swtaffy904 My daughter was an early write, did not get a STRIDE or Zollman, got a $10K/yr Presidential Scholarship. That notification was not separate; it came with the Financial Aid package and there was a special note in her snail mail package that came later.
Did anyone just get an email from Smith?
@hapisjoy Yeah, I did!
@hapisjoy Yeah I did! Says decisions will come out Friday by 5pm with financial aid
@hapisjoy I got it as well.
Good luck to everyone !
Yes. Do you think itās a good sign that they want to make sure we can get into the financial aid portal, or just a generic message to everyone?
I think itās just a generic message to everyone. I really appreciate that Smith gave us an exact time and date though!
I didnāt get the email! Worried!!
Donāt worry! Just a mass email to everyone. It is probably stuck in a server somewhere.
Why would the admissions office set up accounts for people even if they didnāt get in? I tried the pin number that was sent out and was given access to a profile set up for me. Does anyone know if this is standard for a lot of schools? Just seems weird to me that I would have an account made for me if I end up getting denied
@jmastro095 Can you explain what you mean by a profile? Do you mean like the portal with the checklist?
Yes, what screen on their site and what steps did you take to set up the account, jmastro095?
@SpareOom @westcoaster2018 I logged into BannerWeb with the pin that was given in the email that they sent out yesterday. It brought me to a page of financial information links, and when I clicked on the award tab it said āthis information is unavailable at this timeā
