Does Smith have programs that help students improve their speaking and writing? If they do, how good are they?
A school that can help me articulate my speech better and write well is something I’m looking for.
When we visited, the Dean of Students told us about a new center for leadership they’re making. Assuredly, that will have speaking/presenting classes.
As far as writing, every Smithie takes a writing seminar their first year. It’s the only required class.
@imnotokay There are multiple opportunities to give class presentations which help build poise and teach you how to convey information. Some are individual and some are group projects.
My daughter used the writing center. She would work ahead on a paper and have an appointment with a writing coach to review her draft. She said the staff there were very supportive and explained concepts well.
The career center hosts many events concerning looking for internships, resumes, etc. I am assuming they also have a way to practice interviewing.
