Smith Winter Early Decision (II)

Is anyone here considering or going to be applying winter early decision?

Does anyone know what the acceptance rate is for it?

hi, i am considering smith..can someone clarify - what exactly winter early decision means - - when do they give their decision ? not clear onthat - acceptance rate on that is 81%...but does that mean one cant take any other college that one gets accepted at...later

also can anyone tell me what are my chances at yale - if my SAT scores are math 720, verbal 630, writing 590...should i even skip applying there...my gpa is 4.4 and am class president, on the school youth orchestra for 7 yrs, playing piano for 10yrs, school chior 10 yrs, varsity basketball, any ideas...where to apply

Um, I don't know anything about Yale, I would definitely try their board for more specific information about their school.

Winter Early Decision is like Fally Early Decision, it's a binding agreement between you and the college that says that if you are accepted you will withdraw your applications at all other schools and must enroll in Smith. This is a legally binding agreement between you and Smith, you can't take any other offers once Smith accepts you. You

I don't know when they give out the ED II decisions but it is definitely before they give out the regular decisions and probably before they give out decisions at most other schools.

Also, keep in mind that the acceptance rate for Early Decision is a little higher because the pool of ED applicants is self-selecting. You're competing with other students who really want to go to Smith and really think it's a great fit for them, so more of them tend to get in. It doesn't mean that your chances are significantly diminished if you don't apply ED.

Hi, I am applying Winter Early Decision II to Smith College for Fall 2009 and this is what I've found out so far...

Apparently, the college should be mailing you a code to make a profile for when the acceptances are posted on a website linked to smith.edu. I've looked through various sites about when the decisions are made and all seem to say by the end of this month (January, 2009).

Hope this helped and good luck if you have applied!:)
