You don’t apply to Harvard Business School with the Common Application. That’s not an undergraduate program.

Why is there some part that are highlighted? And I thought that most of the application would be online and not by paper?

are the topics for the CommonApp Essay the same every year?

There are two diff. counselor sections. Does that mean we can use two diff. counselors if we had them? My class rank is substantially diff. between the two schools I’ve gone to and my counselors: 1 knew me from freshman to middle of junior year and the other from January to now.

Is that what it’s for? For people who’ve gone to more than one high school??

is there any disadvantages to using the CommonApp? Don’t some colleges have specific questions/essays on their applications? What if you want to apply EA to a college?

A college that accepts the Common Application promises to treat it just like any other application form it accepts. Such a college may (or may not) have a supplement to the Common Application, specific to that college, that applicants have to fill out. Just read all of the instructions. Some Common Application colleges have a nonbinding early action round, and many have a binding early decision round, in their admission processes. Read the instructions about that too.

This may be a dumb question, but is it free to submit the Common Application if you do it online? I saw a reference to that but find it hard to believe – seems like a parent’s dream, given that we are looking at submitting 10 or more applications for our S.

Illinois Dad - it depends on the school. Some schools waive the application fee if you apply online, or reduce it greatly, but others still require you to pay online using a credit card.

Now they’re going in detail, oh noes!

I’m doing independent studies, and I only have one teacher. How would I go about filling out the other teacher recommendation form?!
Also, in regards to declaring a Native American Ethnicity, how can they confirm if you belong to a tribe or not(me)?

do you put all you SAT scores in the common app or just your top scores?
i know colleges get the sat report showing which tests you take

Do the recommendations have to come from instructors or would a guidance counselor count?

If attaching a resume to go along with the activities sheet, how do you submit it if applying on-line instead of through mail?
