Sneaking into class

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible for a perspective (or admitted rather) to walk in to a class. It would probably be a large lecture hall with 250+ people. How easy/difficult is it to do? And are there any risks... (probably a stupid question)

Do you need to swipe a student ID or anything to get in? Do other students really care if they notice? Anything to do to make it less obvious?

nah…you can just sneak in to the back if its a large enough class and no one will notice. they dont check ID or anything

You can “sneak” into any class that has a professor who doesn’t take attendance at any college in the United States that does not have a closed campus.

AKA you’ll be fine.

Yeah, walk in, no one cares. Even in the small discussion you should be fine.

you can technically come to cal for free. go to classes like a normal student and learn just as much as everyone else here.

the thing we pay $$$ for is the grades and the diploma, not the education.

so yes, please try to sit in on as many classes as you can in the dept you’re interested in. should be a good experience

^ lol dont be so pessimistic, we get feedback on our work, individual attention, research

if you wanna make it less obvious though, bring a backpack and maybe a notebook to take some notes. Then you can study the notes later! lol

lol individual attention.

i have a feeling eminem doesn’t go to Berkeley.

Try not to look like you’re paying attention, that’s a complete giveaway that you’re not a student.

lol i’ve done this before… and i’m a student here…

^ i “snuck” into a class the semester before i took it to scope out teacher+people’s reaction to tests.

i have a friend who sat in on one of my midterms with me, she just scribbled on the paper and handed it in at the end lol.

Sometimes I like to sit in during Poli Sci midterms and write about life and its meaning.

One day, I’m just gonna take as many finals as I can.
