definately true, but whilst grades, extra curriculars, "resumes/admission records, SATs etc", as you put it, may be virtually the same/indistinguishable - the personalities of students, and therefore of the student body, cannot be quantified. Yale and Princeton may be statistically identical, yet Yale students could easily be the snobbier bunch.

uh oh, I believe we'll get flamed, gian ;)

They're from a Taiwanese student group, it seems...

If you actually read my post, the points I raised were perfectly valid:

Aergo, the reference to Yale as the snobbier bunch was a mere example, folks!
<<yale and="" princeton="" may="" be="" statistically="" identical,="" yet="" yale="" students="" could[="" u]="" easily="" the="" snobbier="" bunch="">>
"could" indicates that this does not need to be varified, as it is a hypothetical example anyway.</yale>

Just having some fun....

that's the way to go!

the greatness of princeton lies in its elitism. you go to princeton, you are superior, period. princetonians totally have a right to be snobby. and there is nothing uglier than texas highways and low income housing. new jersey low income housing are probably mansions compared to houston LIH. PRINCETON IS GREAT.

Princeton wants me, but I don't want them. I've decided that princeton isn't good enough for me. Harvard isn't either. I think i'm just going to make my own university. Just kidding.

The town of princeton is very liberal.

Also the campus is the most beautiful I have ever seen (And thats competing with views in Ithaca and at UC Berkley.) The campus is very self contained. And while it's not really physically separated from town, it pretty takes up one half of the town; one side of the main street. The other side is an upscale commercial district. think J Crew, Coach, fancy restaurants, starbucks, spas, Lindt Chocolate, small boutiques.

Yeah, the most important store in princeton for PU kids is Hoagie Haven/Georges Roasters and Ribs. Alumni come back 35 years later and order "number 6 with bacon" or "buffolo chicken cheesesteak." And as I commented in another post.

In terms of cuisine: On nassau or within a block there is American diner, Pizza, Fast Food, Thai, Chinese, Sushi, Indian, Italian, Fancy European Nonsense =), Ice Cream n Coffee, Candy, a pancake house, Panera Bread, Mexican, Seafood, (I think we have ethiopian-how ironic, since they're starving in ethiopia...)

There is a train station on campus (basically a rail shuttle). From there you head to princeton junction (like 5 or 10 minutes) where you can hop on a train to anywhere you want (NYC and Philly would be of interest). So yes, you can get from your dorm to broadway via public trans. Princeton is by no means isolated.

If you have any questions about the town or campus I know a good bit, having lived here for 17 years. Post 'em in the thread titled "Princeton Area Info."

Also, McCarter Theater (located on campus) is one of the most active in the the country. It gets all the big tours since its en route from NYC to Philly and vice versa. I'm big into jazz. To give you an idea of the density of the star power that comes through, I saw Wynton Marsalis in his quartet last spring. This spring I have tickets to Arturo Sandoval, the Count Basie Orchestra, and John Faddis. (huge names in Jazz). And princeton eating clubs can get big name bands. Offspring, back when they were huge, just to give you an idea.
