My son will be attending CU as a freshman this fall. He is a big snowboarder and we were wondering if anyone knows anything about the Colorado ski passes that are offered for the season. I think maybe he can purchase them when he gets to CU in August, but I am not sure. I am also curious as to which passes there are and which resorts do they cover? And how much the pass costs.
Also, he is curious about the fraternities. Which are the good ones, when do they rush ,etc? He will be an aerospace engineering major if that helps, but he is not a nerd!

If you go to this website, you can see the most popular passes that many locals (and students) get. It has prices on it as well. [Colorado Pass](<a href=“Ski Resort Vacations | Snow.com”>Ski Resort Vacations | Snow.com)

Most get either the Colorado Pass or the Summit Pass. The website shows future events where he can buy it once he gets here.

There is also another pass that you can buy to go to Winter Park/Mary Jane/Copper Mountain (with some variants), but most kids (at least my kids and their friends) ski at Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, or Vail so they buy the one at the link above.

As for fraternities, “good” is a difficult concept. There’s a fit for just about everyone if they want to go Greek. My son belongs to a fraternity (joined first semester as a freshman) and he’ll be a junior this year. It’s been a good experience for him. Rush starts in September and I think they get bids at either the end of the month or early October. They also have a spring rush as well, in January/early February.
