Can anyone explain how the students get to the mountains and which ones they frequent? Is there any school coordinated transportation, day trips offered by the outdoor club, or outings organized by a campus ski club? Looks like Hood is closer than Bachelor...any others?

There is a very active Outdoors Program at Willamette: [Campus Recreation: Outdoor Program | Willamette University](http://www.willamette.edu/dept/campusrec/outdoor/index.html)

They offer outings every weekend. Snowboarding and skiing is only an hour or so drive from the campus, and the Outdoors Program frequently provides a shuttle services for ski and snowboarding trips. In addition, the student-run Backpacking club often advertises snowshoe hikes in a wide range of areas during the winter. (The only reason I know this is because my son is vice-president of the backpacking club.)

If your son or daughter is interested in snow sports, there will be many opportunities at Willamette.

The school also offer a physical education class that counts as 1/4 of a full class where you ride a bus up to the mountain and can either ski or snowboard. My son took the class in freshman year and loved it.
