I’m a community college student looking to transfer to UCSB, UCD, or UCSC. I have not looked into Csu’s yet.
Basically, I have had a rough college experience and I’m not looking like too great of a candidate.
Let me know if you think I stand a chance.
Current GPA: 2.93
Major: Psychology. Second Choice: Visual Art
I’m about to drop 2 classes so at the end of this semester I’ll have 9 W’s.
I am going to apply for academic renewal to remove a D in a 3 unit class from my transcript, and possibly an F in a 3 unit class as well, so that may help my GPA as well.
I’m going to ace my speech class, so at the end of semester my GPA will be possibly a 2.96?
Transferring with all requirements fulfilled for psych and most for art.
ECs: Worked 2-3 jobs throughout my college career. Activities Director for Visual Arts club. Management experience. Lots of volunteering here and there, no internships though.
Essays: The factors that play a role in my decision to pursue art therapy as study.
And my ability to overcome an abusive relationship and death of my father and continue studying and working full time.
What do you guys think?
I’m thinking I should take another year at another community college, with extra art classes and biology classes to raise my GPA.
