So, I'm not all that familiar with MyUCLA yet. :( Wondering, as a Mechanical Engineering major (hoping to change to Materials at the orientation), what classes do I need to exactly take? Will I find out at the orientation? Or can I know somehow right now?

Thanks!

Materials Engineering Curriculum

Mechanical Engineering Curriculum

basically they're the same your first quarter.

chem 20 for sure. eng comp 3 (if you still need it, depends on AP english, if you don't then substitute some GE). math 31A, or whatever class you're at depending on AP calc. also, the frosh materials engineering seminar (which is open to all engineering majors anyway).

so, if you can't switch at orientation doesn't look like it makes any difference lol.

you will figure out everything you need to know during orientation, from both your OC (which will probably also be an engineering major) and engineering dep't counselors.

haha i love engineering outlines makes my life so easy picking classes

true, you will learn everything at orientation. which one do you have? i'm going for 101. by the way do a little research and go on bruinwalk.com. you'll find rankings for professors and comments about them. it'll help you in case you blindly choose a super hard professor or one that doesn't teach. good luck!
