Hi, as a non native speaker, I have grown my knowledge in English exponentially year by year.

I came to the US Four years ago and took my first collegeboard related PSAT in my Freshman year. I got 45, 68, 51, Reding, Math, Writing, respectively.

The Year after that I got 56,76,57 and this year I am looking forward to raise my Reading and Writing scores greatly on this year's PSAT.

As a junior, since the beggining of summer, I have done numerous College Board Official guide Tests every weekend. I have seemed to improve much. I now get 600-740 on my reading, usually 780 to 800 in math and around 600-700 in writing. As You can see, unlike my math scores, my reading and writing scores have been fluctuating quite a lot. Althought Im usually getting upper 600's in Reading and Writing, there are sometimes those Tests that I completely flunk on. 2 weeks ago, my reading dropped to 610 invariably from my usual 660+s. However, last week, I only missed 5 on the reading section and got a 740.

The Same problem continues to frustrate me in writing sections, I have gotten 690, 700s for past couple of weeks, but today, i got a 590 (excluding the essay score). I don't know what is going on, especially with my writing section. I seem to spend too much time reading the sentences over and over again to eventually find out in the end it was just a simple tense problem. About a third of the problems i missed today were just blatant human errors. another third were questions on little things that i have seen or heard before but haven't mastered. The final remaining third are the problems that i just have no clue on. I think those are the nuances that probably only experienced and avid readers can understand.

So my question is,

is there a way to solve this inconsistency?
Especially with the writing section.

Is there a writing workbook perhaps you can suggest me before i take the PSAT and/or the SAT?

I know there aren't much shorcuts to reading, but i believe there are some effective ways to improve writing scores.

Im sorry that i made you read this unrefined post filled with erroneous usage and conventions, but I would greatly appreciate it if you can share your thoughts on this matter.

Thanks!
